As well as booking your own flights and transfers from Malaga, remember to think about travel insurance! Hiring a car (or bringing a bike) is a good idea - there is a bus service, but to really explore the sierra a car (or a bike) will take you to a lot more places.
The village has a number of small shops and supermarkets, which open in the morning until lunchtime. They open after the siesta until around 9pm. All the basic items you will need are easily available along with wonderful local cheese, ham, fresh produce and wine.
A couple of doors down from Casa Valdespino you will find the Casa Mercedes - as well as being an excellent butcher's, they sell a wide range of other food and drink products.
There are lots of restaurants and bars in Grazalema, including Cafe Bar Rumores just up the road from Casa Valdespino and the Cafe Bar Rumores which is open from breakfast time until late in the evening - find them in the main square. Next to the cafe bar is a very nice patisserie with a range of cakes, pastries etc!
There are two main local bakeries, one just off the main square and the other just across the street. The small shops all sell bread too, along with oil, butter, jams, marmalade, eggs etc so you don't need to go far to buy the basics for your first meal!
